Summary: Alanna is just your average teen who dosn't want to become a lady. No biggie, right? Not when you live in the 16th century time period and thats what every girl around is supposed to do. Her twin brother doesn't want to be a knight, he wants to be a mage. So, she goes to knight training and he goes to the convent to learn magic. Only thing she has to worry about is making sure no one finds out she's a girl. And puberty sure aint helping. Join her on her ups and downs to squirehood. And who knows

Likes: That the characters were portrayed in an interesting way. The book just won't let you put it down until you're done reading. Alanna's life is hilarious and cool. The romance scenes are adorable.

Dislikes: The book's length. It was very depresssing to find the book ended.
